Natural Home Treatments for Commonly Illnesses

If your parents were Indian and you grew up in a home with natural medicines, you have probably utilized them at some time. All due to the over 3,000-year-old heritage of traditional medicine in India! From a contemporary standpoint, many of the plants and herbs employed in these cures have already been shown by scientists to have therapeutic qualities.

  1. For excess body heat:

An accumulation of excess heat inside the body may lead to several health concerns, including ulcers, digestive disorders, and insomnia. Pour 200 ml of water over 25 g of powdered Indian gooseberry. Bring to a boil over a low heat, stirring constantly, until it reduces to about 50 ml. After filtering, let it cool. Stir in 5 g jaggery powder and drink 20 ml of this mixture. You may take it once or twice a day, before a meal, for optimal benefits.

  1. For flatulence:

Indigestion, flatulence, and sometimes burping might be brought on by certain food selections or underlying medical conditions. Digestion enzymes including amylase, which aids in the breakdown of carbohydrates, lipase, which aids in the digestion of lipids, and protease, which aids in the digestion of proteins, are activated by the seeds of cumin seeds(jeera), fennel seeds (saunf), and carom (ajwain). Flatulence is alleviated by these spices and herbs because they stimulate certain digestive enzymes. In equal parts, prepare a combination of toasted cumin, fennel, and carom. After every meal, take one teaspoon of this combination and sip half a cup of warm water. Asafoetida powder is also used for indigestion.

  1. In terms of stomach aches:

There are many causes of stomach aches, including acidity, indigestion, constipation, bad eating habits, and liver poisoning. Asafoetida, or hing, increases the activity of digestive enzymes and has a calming effect that helps reduce stomach discomfort. Combine a third of a teaspoon of cumin powder, a small sprinkle of rock salt, and a small pinch of asafoetida.

  1. Regarding nausea:

Acidity, motion sickness, pregnancy, food poisoning, and other conditions may all result in nausea and vomiting. Vomiting too much might cause dehydration. The finest spice to relieve nausea is cardamom (elaichi), since the fragrant spice possesses stomachic, anti-inflammatory, and carminative qualities. One or two cardamom pods may be chewed. Another cure is to combine half a cup of plain yogurt with half a teaspoon of honey and two pinches of cardamom powder.

  1. To maintain healthy teeth:

Neglecting oral hygiene often leads to tooth damage and foul breath. Even though cleaning your teeth on a regular basis is advised, sesame (til) oil may help your teeth stay healthy. It has strong antimicrobial properties and reduces tooth plaque, leaving your smile looking great. Rinse your gums with a tablespoon of sesame oil for fifteen to twenty minutes. Take caution not to ingest it. Use your index finger to gently massage your gums after spitting the oil. In this manner, you may lessen gum irritation in addition to preventing cavities, poor breath, and dental infections.

  1. For the common cold:

Pollution and chilly temperatures may lead to respiratory problems such as clogged noses. Recent studies have shown that ginger and black pepper, often known as kali mirch, may strengthen the body’s defenses against illness. Incorporate jaggery (gur) and black pepper into your ginger tea to alleviate respiratory distress and combat common colds. You may consume this beverage to strengthen your immunity against illnesses brought on by pollutants and seasonal infections even if you do not have respiratory problems.

  1. For a prolonged dry or wet cough:

The anti-inflammatory qualities of ginger include phenolic and flavonoid components such gallic acid, p-hydroxybenzoic acid, and pyrogallol. As a result, it functions as an antioxidant by shielding tissues from the damaging effects of free radicals and reactive oxygen species.

  1. In the event of sinusitis:

The sinuses are the small openings between the forehead, nose, and eyes. The inflammation of these areas is known as sinusitis. When symptoms like headache, runny nose, discomfort around the eyes, and swelling occur, it may be excruciating. The analgesic and anti-inflammatory qualities of ginger may help you feel better if you have sinusitis. Blend freshly squeezed ginger juice with jaggery, then strain through a cloth. Use this combination on the nose if you have a sinusitis-related headache.
